Florida

I went to Florida this weekend well for about 5 days and had a great time! I got together with two ladies from one of my photography forums and then a couple other photographers who wanted to learn off camera flash. Here are a few photos from Saturday. I had an awesome time!

This is my friend Martha’s little guy Santi.  We went out for dinner after shooting and just had an excellent time hanging with them!

Flash Full Power f5.6 1/200 ISO 100

Here Santi is again at the beach throwing sand up in the air.  I thought this shot was so cute!

Flash was Full Power f 8.0 1/250 ISO 100

Notice my shutter was at 1/250.  I went above the sync speed.  If you look at the sooc you will see a black line on the sand in the bottom of the shot but I cropped it out.

This is Laura.  We shot this in Ybor City.  I will show another photo of what happened when were down there.  :)

When we were in Ybor, this guy came along and just started posing for us and got upset b/c we were not taking his photo so I moved my light and shot this photo. He was seriously all over the place moving around and posing.  I wish my seniors would move around like this guy did without direction!

Full Power f4.0 1/200 ISO 100

I absolutely love clouds!  The clouds were so cool Saturday night.  I moved the light a bit around and shot this.

Full Power f4.5  1/160 ISO 100   Make sure when you are shooting OCF you have LOTS of Batteries.  By this time the batteries were so drained!!

Full Power f4.5 1/25 ISO 100  The sun had been down for a while now and this is why my shutter was so low.

Those last two shots are simply stunning! I can’t believe the color and detail of the sky and clouds. Amazing! Sounds like you guys had a great time too!

Ali,

I enjoyed the OCF e-book & learned at lot from it. One question I have about the last shot taken at 1/25, do you typically use a tripod at that speed ? Isn’t motion or camera blur an issue at those long exposures ?

Hey Brendan, I shot this with out a tripod. It would be a lot better if you had one but I just make sure I’m as still as I can be. Yes it can be an issue but so far I’ve been pretty good at it.
